Most moles are good or benign. It is good habit to have them checked periodically, once every 6 months or an year.
There are signs and symptoms when it is better to remove a mole and histopathological examination done.
The signs are -
- ABCD rule - It grows very fast, there is change in colour, the shape becomes irregular and asymmetrical;
- If it bleeds, itches or becomes symptomatic;
- If it is on trauma prone sites – palms and soles.
